Karen Hotte has been associated with the Global Episcopal Mission Network since 2010, first as a Diocesan Delegate for the Diocese of Massachusetts, then as webmaster and communications coordinator. Karen became GEMN’s Executive Director in February 2014.
Karen has been passionate about mission after leading life-changing mission trips to El Salvador in 2005 and 2009, and has since been engaged in mission in Ecuador, Haiti, Colombia and youth mission in Puerto Rico. She has served as webmaster and co-leader of the Mission Leadership Program in the Diocese of Massachusetts, and is currently on the board of COLFORPAZ, a non-profit working with the Diocese of Colombia.
Prior to working with GEMN, Karen was a Systems Analyst with Polaroid’s Negative Manufacturing Division, the Tufts Human Nutrition Research Center, and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Karen has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Colby College and a master’s in Computer Science from Bridgewater State University. Karen has also served as a vestry member, bible study facilitator, mission coordinator, webmaster, and healing prayer team member at St. Gabriel’s Church in Marion, MA.
